ABUJA — The Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin and Eastern Obolo Development Association (IMEDA), Abuja Chapter, has endorsed Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, Senator Ekong Sampson and the member representing Ikot Abasi/Mkpat Enin/Eastern Obolo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Uduak Alphonsus Odudoh, for second terms in office in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made on Sunday, September 6, 2026, during the association’s September general meeting held at the Akwa Ibom Community House, adjacent to the Federal Ministry of Finance Headquarters, Central Business District, Abuja.
The meeting brought together sons and daughters of Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin and Eastern Obolo residing in Abuja, with members of the association affirming their support for the three political office holders.
Presiding over the meeting, the President of IMEDA Abuja, Akparawa Edidiong Ubeh, called for a motion on the collective adoption and endorsement of Governor Eno, Senator Sampson and Hon. Odudoh for another term.
The motion was moved by the association’s Board of Trustees Chairman, Pastor Sunny Inyang, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Inyang and Akparawa Ofonime Umana, and seconded by Princess Sylvia Obot, Prince Austin Ekott and Akparawa-awan Caroline Ndaeyo.
In its declaration, IMEDA said the endorsement was based on what it described as the trio’s proven leadership, accessibility, effective representation and contributions to the development of their constituents and the state.
Ubeh said the decision was informed by the performance and leadership qualities of the three office holders, stressing that their achievements over the past three years had, in the view of the association, demonstrated their commitment to the people.
He said the principle of “one good turn deserves another” was particularly relevant as the 2027 elections approach, adding that the endorsement was not intended to be merely symbolic.
According to him, IMEDA would mobilise its members residing in Abuja to return home during the 2027 elections to exercise their franchise and support the candidates endorsed by the association.
Ubeh also appreciated Senator Sampson and Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudoh for their consistent support and identification with the association, while praying for continued divine protection, wisdom and success for the three leaders.
The association reaffirmed its commitment to unity, peace and development and adopted the slogan: Nigeria. “Proven, Trusted, Delivering. One People. One Voice. One Future.”
The meeting ended with prayers for continued peace and progress in Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
