IBENO -The Chairman of Ibeno Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Hon. Glory Eka, has congratulated Governor Umo Eno and the people of the State on the just concluded 39th anniversary of the state’s creation, praising the administration’s efforts in infrastructure development, peace-building and inclusive governance.
Eka, in a goodwill message to the governor and people of the state, described the creation of Akwa Ibom on September 23, 1987, as a landmark achievement that gave the people a platform to pursue collective development and prosperity.
She commended the governor for the ongoing infrastructural projects across the state, saying it demonstrated the administration’s commitment to improving citizens’ quality of life and opening up communities to greater economic opportunities.
The council chairman particularly praised the governor for giving Ibeno a greater sense of belonging in the affairs of the state, saying that, the administration’s inclusive approach had strengthened the people’s confidence in government, and commended Governor Eno for his commitment to protecting the interests and identity of minority ethnic groups in the state.
Eka maintained that inclusiveness, fairness and respect for Akwa Ibom’s diverse ethnic groups were essential to sustaining peace and unity.
She also attributed the relatively conducive environment for development to the governor’s emphasis on dialogue and peaceful engagement in resolving community issues.
The chairman assured the governor of the continued support and solidarity of the people of Ibeno in the pursuit of his development agenda.
She further declared Ibeno’s support for the governor’s second-term bid and all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming elections.
According to her, “the people of Ibeno will support the APC in the elections and continue to identify with the administration and its programmes for the development of Akwa Ibom.”
While urging the people of Ibeno and Akwa Ibom to remain united, peaceful and committed to the continued progress of the state, Hon. Eka wished the governor continued wisdom, good health and success in service delivery to the state.
