CALABAR -World Harvest Bible College and Seminary, Calabar has graduated over 100 students at its 30th/31st Convocation Ceremony held on Friday in Calabar.
The graduation ceremony of the Class of 2026, saw the graduands across Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor of Arts in Theology, and Postgraduate programmes.
The event also brought together the seminary community, families, friends and well-wishers to celebrate the academic and spiritual achievements of the graduating students as they prepare to take on new responsibilities in their various fields of endeavour.
At the convocation were the Chancellor, Rev.Nick Ezeh, the Chairman and members of the Governing Council, the Guest Speaker, Rev. Joseph Okoro, members of the Board of Trustees, heads of denominations and invited church leaders, heads of institutions and academic partners.
Others were members of the academic and non-academic staff, parents, spouses, guardians and Well-wishers as well as the graduating Class of 2026.
In his welcome address , the Provost of the College, Dr. Daniel Ukene, ascribed all glory to God for his mercy, and for his truth’s sake as recorded in Psalm 115:1 and also expressed the Seminary’s gratitude to the Chancellor, Dr. Nick Ezeh and wife for their visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the growth of the College.
According to him, the graduation marked the culmination of years of rigorous academic work, intensive spiritual formation, and practical ministry engagement.
Presenting the graduands before the College and the world, the Provost, said “These men and women have fulfilled all the requirements as stipulated by the Academic Board and Senate of World Harvest Bible College & Seminary in both learning and character. They have been examined and found worthy.”
He added that “They have been trained in accordance with our institutional motto drawn from 2 Timothy 2:15: _“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
He described the 2025/2026 Academic Session as a year of significant progress and consolidation for the Institution with the establishment of a functional academic planning directorate, approved health facility, expansion of academic programmes and an increase in staff enrollment among others.
To the Class of 2026, he charged them to first of all be faithful to the Word, their character and the mission and to also remember the Institution as their home as they are now ambassadors of World Harvest.
The Guest Speaker, Rev Okoro reminded the graduates that their graduation marked the beginning of a new responsibility, as they would be sent into a society comprising people from diverse backgrounds, including those who still hold firmly to traditional beliefs and practices.
He noted that the graduates would also have to navigate emerging challenges such as economic difficulties, changing family values, and cultural and social transformations.
In a valedictory message on behalf of the graduating students, Mrs. Kathryn Emmanuel, described the training received as a call to educate and transform lives.
She challenged her fellow graduates to continually ask themselves who they had transformed or taught through their knowledge and service.
