Africa, the second largest continent on the Earth continues to wait for Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) World Cup glory as the latest hopeful, Atlas Lions of Morroco crash out of the tournament yesterday.

Africa came close to picking the trophy when Morroco reached the semi-final of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar ,but lost to Belgium..and finished fourth overall after loosing to France 2-0.

Other attempts by African nations at reaching the world cup was in 1990, when Cameroon lost 3-2 to England at quarter-finals at Italy.

Again in 2002, Senegal was eliminated by Turkey 1-0 at Japan while in 2010, Ghana lost to Uruaguay on penalties played in South Africa.

Beating Morocco 2-0 in the quarter-finals match France ,the 2018 World Cup winner and 2022 ruuner-up ,played the match with star-studded forwards, Kyllian Mbappe and Dembele scoring eight goals respectfully, while Bradley Barcola has grabed two goals and Desire Doue one, Michael Olise provides assists upfront, making the France team cohesive and creative.

So far, Mbappe has scored 20 goal in his 20 world cup appearances.

Mbappé now has eight goals in the tournament after he scored the first goal in the second half, followed by a goal from Dembélé just six minutes later, giving France a 2-0 lead that remained until the end of the gaml

Didier Deschamps’ men were always in control against a limited Morocco side who failed to register a single shot on goal until an 83rd-minute free-kick by Azzedine Ounahi was comfortably saved by France goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Although,France created more chances throughout the match, they fluffed the chances with the first half ending without netting any goal.

The French side’s attacking prowess earn them the control of the game from first to second half,until regulation time.

Paris Saint-Germain star and Ballon d’ Or 2025 winner ,Dembélé put the game beyond Atlas Lions in the 66th minute, whipping perfectly into the bottom corner to confirm winning for The Blues

France will now compete for a place in the final against the winner of the Belgium versus Spain match to be played in Arlington, Texas, on Tuesday.
