A prophet in Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Paddy Ogon, has predicted that former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Obong Nsima Ekere, will eventually govern the state as Governor.
Ogon, made the prediction during an interaction with journalists in Uyo, at the weekend saying that, he had received divine revelations several years ago that Ekere will be governor.
According to him, although Ekere is currently not among those campaigning for the governorship ticket of any major political party ahead of the 2027 election, circumstances would arise that would pave the way for his emergence.
He said, “Nsima Ekere will be enthroned as Governor of Akwa Ibom State. God’s word that Nsima Ekere will be governor of Akwa Ibom State will soon come to pass.”
Ogon further disclosed that vacancy would occur in the ruling political party, creating the need for a replacement candidate and ultimately making Ekere the preferred option.
“A vacancy shall occur in Akwa Ibom ruling party and there will be need for replacement of candidate in the major political parties. Then Nsima Ekere would be the available option.
Though, he did not mentioned which political platform but said, “He shall be nominated by the party and shall be enthroned as Governor of Akwa Ibom State,” he declared.
Ekere, hitherto, was the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019 but lost to the then Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Udom Emmanuel who governed the state till 2023, where the incumbent Governor, Pastor Umo Eno succeeded till now.
Ekere has since returned to private life and is presently not listed among the prominent aspirants seeking the governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 election but, Prophet Ogon argued that his prediction was a biblical revelations based on the books of Daniel, Matthew and Revelation, and Daniel 7, 8, 11, 12, Matthew 24 and Revelation 13.
The prophet also made other prophetic declarations concerning what he described as the “end time”, including the emergence and eventual fall of a beast whose dominion, according to him, would be cut short after 42 months.
He said the biblical prophecies represented the fulfilment of what Scripture describes as the “end time” and the “end of the world”, adding that they also pointed to the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Ogon further declared that the prophecy concerned not only Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria but the world, linking it to the resurrection of the dead in Christ and what he described as the manifestation of the sons of God citing Matthew 24, 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17 and Romans 8 in support of his interpretation.
